During a memorable journey through California’s Avenue of the Giants Forest in the late 1990s, my husband and his friend encountered a captivating sight that would inspire this very collection. While exploring, they quietly observed a group of fairies among the towering trees, an experience both vivid and undeniable, set against the backdrop of what is possibly the forest’s largest redwood, measuring 15 feet in diameter and about 3500 years old.

The sighting was made even more remarkable by my friend’s account years later, who photographed what appeared to be the silhouette of a fairy on a telephone pole, visible only as a subtle outline. These encounters, particularly compelling given their rarity and clarity, have deeply influenced my creation of the Fairy Collection.
